A.I.D.A (2024-2025)
Intervention for wool creation of one space safe y free of drugs in him hogar.
This program is composed of different projects aimed at prevention and intervention from a preventive basis in the field of drug addiction. It began to be implemented during the 2023-2024 academic year and continues its implementation in the 2024-2025 academic year. This is a program made up of four different projects, in which the target population is cascaded (in such a way that first we work with the youngest, then adolescents, and then with university students and, finally, with adults. Therefore, in 2023-2024 we will address two and in 2024-2025 we will close the following two. This way of approaching the program is based on the philosophy behind the association: we work for the community, taking care, as a priority, of future generations.
First, we carried out an emotional education project as a drug use prevention strategy with primary school children. Second, we proposed a training project for adolescents on healthy leisure alternatives. Third, we will implement a metacognition and self-analysis project in substance abuse with university students. Finally, we will carry out a dissemination project for families, aimed at creating a safe and trusting space at home and for them to constitute a support group regarding the field of drug addictions.
Intervention for the creation of a safe and drug-free space in the home.
After addressing this matter from the association in previous years, we are clear that there are failures in the prevention process, and with this project, we provide different tools and instruments accompanied by an alternative methodology to the current one, we will be able to make prevention more effective, and the aim is to do this by improving the timing of the intervention, that is, stabilizing the prevention plan, without carrying it out in a timely manner, seeking to make it durable, and that it works transversally with dialogic methodologies for the development of critical thinking and, adapted to different families.
The objectives of the project must adapt to the cognitive and cultural level of the families and to their development, providing the appropriate resources and methodologies to transmit the optimal information so that families as a whole are able to understand the problems that revolve around drugs and drug addiction.
Since the objectives must be addressed transversally, we will focus on informing, advising and guiding on the consumption of narcotic substances or addictive behaviors, their effects and consequences. And it aims, on the other hand, to educate in the development of healthy habits related to physical and cultural activities as an alternative form of leisure.
The objectives adapted to families will be the following:
- Involve families in participating in classes and dynamics.
Educating about the risks of consuming psychoactive substances at an early age or initial stage is key, since neural and physical developments occur. - Vary family dynamics.
- Get to know families that may be in a situation of social vulnerability in their usual context, in which there are risk relationships with problems raised or derived from drug consumption.
- Provide guidance on healthy habits in the use of technology and the risks posed by additions of this type.
Warn about the risks and problems linked to gambling and online gambling.
1. Presentation session.
There will be an introduction to the project, and a brief presentation to the families of what is proposed in the sessions throughout the year, they will be informed of the calendar, and the topics that will be covered, a general outline will be developed exposing the different topics to be covered during the project and allowing them to decide which ones are most relevant to them, seeing the degree of knowledge of the group in general, on different topics. In this way, risks or knowledge that are not appropriate for their context or that need to be worked on can also be discovered. Later, they will be given a short questionnaire with questions related to the three topics of the project, drugs, technologies and games, in addition to allowing spaces to raise expectations, doubts and unknowns.
2. Let’s debate.
The beginning of the session should be relaxed, it is the second time we have contact with the participating families and after the first impression, it is an important moment because it could condition the development of the project, depending on the climate and the relaxation/confidence of the participants.
The second session will begin with topics related to what was marked by the families as of greatest interest, this will facilitate the commitment of the majority, since it is a topic that interests them.
The intention is to generate a guided debate, which allows discovering new related topics and better understanding the level of information that the families have on the topic. Let’s say that there is a great interest divided between narcotic substances and technologies, and the session could begin by referring to the results and the general interest of the families on these topics, and giving rise to questions that favor the display of opinions and debate. After a time in which questions have arisen, which Xanela members can answer, we will reflect and summarize what was discussed during the hour of the session, reserving 5 minutes to propose activities or related topics for the following sessions.
3. The concepts.
Concepts such as addiction, consumption, abstinence period, having explained that all generate differences in the behavior of the individual with the social environment. We will talk about the different regulations that deal with gambling, technology and drugs.
A debate will be opened on whether they believe that in some way in families people are conditioned and they will be told about the different forms of behavior and cluster behavior. A group work activity will be developed, with between 6 and 8 people per group, which will consist of creating a tower with 50 spaghetti and a bag of gummy clouds. They will have 5 minutes to make the tower taller and that it is alone for more than 5 seconds. After this game as an introduction, which will allow you to see how the members of Xanela can work as a team, analyze the difficulties that may exist.
A comparison of the towers will be made with the formation as people of as humans, little by little we build ourselves as a result of our interaction with others. others and that, if something fails, the tower falls, the person collapses, to be rebuilt.

4. Red Cuz.
Through the use of external resources, a group from Red Cuz comes to Xanela to give a talk on the prevention of drug use in the family, in which they will explain aspects that have already been partially covered in previous sessions, but in a more exhaustive way, alluding to the serious effects and consequences of intra-family use, expanding information on physical and mental illnesses that they generate, in addition to social and economic problems.
In this way, families receive a message in the same direction, but from different sources, providing specialized services to students will increase their information.
5. Introduction to leisure.
Introduction to healthy leisure if we send them the information and encourage their participation in this type of activity, they will develop an alternative leisure that once acquired as a habit works as a factor in preventing drug use or excessive use of technology, especially in the family area.
Finally, for the next session they are asked to bring their mobile phone, so that the next day everyone can do an activity in which we will mix families. At the end of the meeting, they will be provided with a template with two boxes per day, so that they can fill in the daily and weekly consumption indicated by the mobile phone and what they estimate to have been done with the use of other technologies (play station, TV, computer). This will be done by all family members. The objective is to establish an analysis of the use and abuse of technology in their daily lives and therefore, of intra-family connections.
6. Consumption of technologies.
The project will resume with the last activity carried out, on the consumption of technology, involving families in the exposure and evaluation of their own consumption during the Easter holidays. The objective will be for the family to explain what their consumption was during the holiday period and why, in this way. Families must be aware of the number of hours they can have and spend in front of the screen, instead of in adult leisure or designated leisure areas. It is not about eliminating interaction with technology, but encouraging its responsible and critical use of it, and promoting other forms of outdoor leisure.
We have all the sessions described, but we consider that these six are a great reflection of the project that we want to carry out. Involve families, rethink their relationship with drugs and addictions and take measures in their daily lives.
